The Tensalloy™ AR400 wear-resistant steel plate provides greater impact strength than other common heat-treated alloys. As a result, expect longer lasting wear parts in some of the toughest applications.

In particular, it is an ideal substitute for almost all applications in which excessive wear is currently a problem and when ease of fabrication is needed. Additionally, this Tensalloy™ plate serves well for applications in which high impact is needed. They include bed liners, bucket liners, and all types of heavy machine equipment liners. This particular Tensalloy™ plate is also used for facings, loader cutting edges, drag bucket wear plates. Tensalloy™ 400 can be cut to your specifications with plasma, oxy-Acetylene, laser, and water jet as well as with abrasive cut off saws.


Drilling, countersinking, counterboring, tapping, milling, and general machining is performed with conventional equipment and carbide tools.


Tensalloy™ 400 is specially made for improved formability with low levels of carbon and sulphur for inclusion shape control.

Up to .75" can be cold bent to minimum inside bend radius of 3t (where t is the plate thickness) with the bend axis transverse to the rolling direction. A radius of 4t can be used when bending parallel to the roll direction.

For plate over .750" a radius of 6t is recommended when forming transverse to the rolling direction.


Tensalloy™ has excellent weldability and can be welded with simple procedures and common consumables such as E7018.
