Tensamang is an austenitic manganese steel with unusual shock resistant properties that improves in hardness under shock and abrasion to ultimately reach a hardness of 550-600 Brinell. The work-hardening ability of this super-strength steel reduces replacement costs, as it outlasts conventional plate by as much as 12:1, and frequently more under the most severe shock conditions
Tensamang acquires a highly-polished, hardened surface finish with less friction, assuring easy, positive flow of abrasive bulk materials including ores, aggregates, core sand, coal, and heavy casting, increasing produciton with attendant savings of time and cost.

Forming: Tensamang should be cold-formed. Consult Clifton Steel for difficult applications.
Welding: Welding is easily accomplished with Tensamang Electrode or S.A. Wire, or AWS 303 or 304 stainless electrodes. Ductility will be increased in the fusion zone by peening.
Cutting: Tensamang can be cut with standard torch equipment.
